![]() If the separation is minimal you can use a syringe to inject the glue into the cracks and clamp closed. Re-ring separation is a very easy fix, just use a quality wood glue (I like Tightbond III) and use a few small woodworking clamps to hold it in place as it drys. The wrap should be easy enough to clean with a little soap and water, or I've heard of people using vinyl cleaner/polish as well. I use crumpled aluminum foil to clean with, its abrasive enough to remove rust, yet its a softer metal and won't scratch the chrome like steel wool. Use a chrome polish or even just water with a little dawn soap. Stay away from abrasive chemicals and steel wool as it can and WILL damage the chrome. I would start by removing all hardware from the shells and start with a deep clean. It really just looks like a bunch of cleaning and some edge work which is pretty basic stuff. There isn't a whole lot of value in this kit, however, if you're interested in getting into the world of restoration and vintage drums, this is a great kit to start with, especially at a price of free! Could turn out to be a really nice sounding jazz kit with a bit of elbow grease. ![]()
